Newly Planted Church in Turkana County

In August, Pastor Sylvester was able to visit our Harbingers missionaries in Turkana County, Kenya.  One of the missionaries was Henry Cheboi.  Missionary Cheboi is reaching North Turkana County with the Word of God.  There were no churches in the area when he planted the first church 15 years ago.  God has enabled him to speak the Turkana language fluently.  With the help of God, he and his team have planted seven churches in different villages within Turkana in the past 15 years.

In early 2025, Missionary Cheboi moved to a new village about 40 miles away from his main church in Turkana to plant a new church.  This area was not reached at all with the gospel until Missionary Cheboi arrived.  Pastor Sylvester reports that he rode a motorbike for about 40 miles from the main church through the bush to get to the new church.  Some places the route was so bad that the motorbike could barely pass through.  Pastor Sylvester invites us to pray for Missionary Cheboi and his family as he ministers in this very difficult area that lacks a school, water, and a trading center.

Despite the difficult conditions, God is moving the hearts of the Turkana people.  Many have given their lives to Christ.  Missionary Cheboi requests prayer for the church to grow and be established in faith, for more people to be reached for Christ, and for God to provide for the family’s security and financial needs.
